Operating a CNC lathe is a basic ability that every machining factory must master. Perfect operation of CNC lathes can improve economic benefits and reduce labor costs for the company, increase production efficiency. The operation of CNC lathes has evolved to be very simple. Basically, to operate a CNC lathe is to know the functions of various codes such as G code, F code, and S code of the current CNC lathe machine system. The combination of various codes can greatly improve the CNC lathe productitvity. Let me introduce to you a few steps of small operation CNC lathe.

1. Switch on

The steps to start the machine are as follows:

1) Start the air pump (CNC machine tool with pneumatic tightening tool);

2) When the air pressure reaches the specified value, turn on the main power supply of the machine tool;

3) Press the POWER button on the system panel to enter the system startup state;

4) After the system is started, observe whether there is an alarm on the monitor. If there is an alarm, press the “MESSAGE” button to enter this page to read the alarm information and cancel the alarm before proceeding to the next operation of the machine tool. For example, if the alarm is displayed as an Emergency stop, turn the emergency stop button clockwise to cancel the alarm. The alarm of machine tool startup is not only an emergency stop but also a low coolant level alarm, low lubricating oil level alarm, and so on. Corresponding measures should be taken to remove the alarm.

2.Return to the reference point

This is the starting, in order to make the CNC machine find the machine coordinates of the reference that must be operated. The operation steps are as follows:

1) Press the POS button, select synthesis, and observe the mechanical coordinate value to see whether the mechanical coordinate value is less than -100, if not, it is necessary to select JOG manually moving the coordinate axis to make its value meet the requirements before proceeding to the next operation; If the requirements are met, proceed to the next step directly.

2) Select the REF gear, press +X, +Y, +Z, and then press HOME START to start back to zero. After returning to zero, the zero light will be displayed on the LED display interface, that is, the action of returning to zero is completed;

3) After returning to zero point, it is necessary to exit the zero point in time to avoid a long time holding down the travel switch and affecting its service life. It is necessary to move away from the zero point by JOG each axis in the opposite direction of the zero point;

Note: Sometimes after pressing the < emergency stop button >, machine tool lock >, < empty operation >, and other buttons due to emergency < situations, the machine tool return to reference point operation should be carried out again, otherwise the CNC machine tool system will lose the memory of the machine tool zero and cause accidents.

operate a CNC lathe, Some do not need to return to zero. Because the absolute value closed-loop system drive is adopted, it can be operated directly after power-on even without returning to zero.

  1. Display coordinate mode

Nc milling machine CRT panel displays a coordinate button for the POS button, there are three kinds of coordinates in the display interface, they are comprehensive, absolute, and relative. Each coordinate form is explained as follows:

1) The function of relative coordinates. First, it can be zeroized, or the coordinate value predetermined at any position of the machine tool, which plays a great role in the preservation of coordinate points in the process of tool operation; Second, the relative coordinates are also given to us when operating the machine tool, so that any point of the machine tool can be zeroized so that we can calculate the distance of the moving axis.

The procedure for clearing zeros is as follows:

  1. Press the POS key to display coordinates;
  2. Select the display mode of relative coordinates;
  3. When you select the X axis to clear zero, press the X button. At this time, “Origin” will flash at the bottom of the CRT display;
  4. Press “Origin”, then the zero clearing of the X axis is completed, and the zero clearing of the Y and Z axis is carried out similarly;

2) The function of integrated coordinates can simultaneously display the changes in relative, absolute, and mechanical coordinates. Here the emphasis is explained as “mechanical coordinates”: that is, “machine coordinates”, that is, the coordinate value of the machine relative to the origin of the machine. One of its functions is to see whether the “mechanical coordinates” are zero when the operation is carried out back to zero. If the machine is zero, there is no problem. The second is to move each shaft to move the maximum stroke position of the machine tool, which can directly display the stroke of the machine tool.

3) The absolute coordinates are used to determine the origin of the coordinates of the tool relative to the workpiece. It is mainly used to remember the coordinate value when the tool is set. The origin of the workpiece of the tool can be recorded in any G54 — G59. The steps to use the absolute coordinate system are as follows:

  1. When the tool is at the zero position of the three axes of the workpiece, the first one of the origin should be recorded in the relative coordinate, that is, the three axes of the relative coordinate can be cleared to zero.
  2. Press the OFFSET button to select the coordinate system and enter the absolute coordinates G54 — G59. Here, we select the coordinate system G54.

c, input X0, measurement, Y and Z axis measurement, at this time, the origin of the workpiece recorded in the coordinate system G54, as long as the programming G54 coordinate instructions can be called.

The operation of the CNC lathe I am introducing now is just a benchmark operation, and I will introduce more steps about the operation of a CNC lathe later. And there will be an advanced version. I hope you can continue to pay attention to my CNC lathe website.
